She has a strong interest in working with children, adolescents, young adults, families, and adults, and is committed to creating a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment for her clients.
Emma earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. During her undergraduate years, she worked at the Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention Program as both a research assistant and later a research coordinator. She has presented her work at the American Psychological Association conference in 2024 and recently published her first manuscript in the Journal of Behavioral Disorders.
Prior to beginning her doctoral program, Emma was an elementary special education teacher resident at The Shefa School, a school for children with language-based learning disorders. In this role, she collaborated with the school psychologist to help develop a social-emotional learning curriculum, supporting students in building skills in peer play, emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships, and emotion identification.
Emma has received training in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and she is interested in gaining more experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She is dedicated to working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD and autism. She also has a strong interest in conducting psychological assessments to better understand her clients’ unique needs and abilities.
She looks forward to continuing her training and education throughout her doctoral program while supporting clients in developing meaningful skills to grow.
